Mechanical bush clearing

Oceanklass Solutions Limited, in partnership with Greenspan Concepts Limited, is currently executing mechanical bush clearing activities along the 10-inch Egbema West to Egbema Manifold pipeline corridor. The project is aimed at restoring and maintaining access to the pipeline Right-of-Way (ROW) to facilitate safe operations, inspection activities, maintenance programs, and pipeline integrity management.

The work involves the use of heavy-duty excavators to mechanically clear vegetation, shrubs, and other obstructions along the pipeline route. By maintaining a clear corridor, the project supports operational efficiency, enhances accessibility, and reduces potential risks associated with overgrown vegetation along critical oil and gas infrastructure.

As of the latest project update, a cumulative distance of 6,716 meters has been successfully cleared, demonstrating steady progress toward project completion.

Progress is measured not only by the distance covered but by the standards maintained throughout the journey. Our commitment remains delivering quality work safely and efficiently.

Project Progress Update

On 27th May 2026, the project team successfully carried out mechanical bush clearing operations using two excavators. Excavator B achieved 234 meters of clearing, while Excavator C achieved 139 meters, resulting in a total daily achievement of 373 meters.

Despite operational challenges encountered with Excavator A due to a faulty turbocharger, work continued safely and efficiently, contributing to the cumulative progress recorded on the project.

01
Step

Mobilization and Site Preparation

The project commenced with the mobilization of personnel, excavators, and support equipment to the Egbema West pipeline corridor.
02
Step

Safety Briefing and Work Authorization

Prior to the commencement of daily operations, a toolbox meeting was conducted to communicate the day's objectives, hazards, control measures, and emergency response procedures.
03
Step

Mechanical Bush Clearing Operations

Mechanical bush clearing activities were carried out using excavators deployed along the pipeline Right-of-Way (ROW).
04
Step

Progress Monitoring and Reporting

Upon completion of daily activities, the cleared distance was measured and recorded to evaluate project performance against established targets.
